Inspired by Phillip Pullman’s ‘Lyra’s Oxford’ these young writers, designers and performers have spent the past year coming up with their own brand new piece of theatre which will be performed at the end of May. Set in Oxford, Seven for a Secret is a dark tale of disappearing children and hidden worlds. 10 years after the disappearance a note turns up saying ‘find me’ and the characters are swept into a magical world of mystery and hidden worlds.
In an unexpected twist Seven for a Secret is a site-specific show where the audience are first asked to meet at a secret location close to Pegasus Theatre. From here the audience will be pulled into the story as they explore an installation and delve into the past of these mysterious characters. Finally, after being completely immersed in the story then the audience will be treated to a full performance of the play back at Pegasus Theatre.
This exciting new venture will be the first full length production by the Young Company directed by Joint CEO Corinne Micallef. The history of Pegasus working to inspire young people has been fused with new and innovative ideas to create this final piece.
Pegasus Young Company is a year-long project open to any 16-25 year olds with a passion for performance and offers an in-depth experience of a full production. Based in East Oxford, Pegasus is a theatre with young people at its heart. It offers weekly classes for over 300 young people in drama, dance, design and writing, as well as a parallel performance programme featuring professional companies.
